Welcome!

I would like to thank each of you for taking the time out to be a part of the African American Caucus of the North Carolina Democratic Party (AACNCDP)!

We are excited and motivated about the upcoming election and the opportunity that we all have in electing Barak Obama as President of the United States! However, our work does not begin nor end there.

There are so many candidates and voters that need our help. It is our goal to use this website as a tool to educate and register voters, build partnerships with grassroots oriented democrats and connect democratic candidates with their constituencies.

Check back in with us here as more updates occur.

Thanks,

Kevin A. Smith
President, AACNCDP

Perdue in Pursuit of History as First Female N.C. Governor

"The easiest excuse was that no woman had ever done it before," said former Craven County commissioner Lonnie Pridgen. "But she was very persistent and she worked (hard), so we decided to get behind her and help her."

8 For 2008

As an organization, the AAC-NCDP has an opportunity to play a critical role in this historic election. We have a choice to either be an insignificant footnote or a momentous notation in the pages of North Carolina’s political and cultural history, and if we are to make a positive impact on the 2008 election, we must have an agenda the outlines clear, comprehensive and effective objectives.
